NOSY-BE / NOSY IRANJA / NOSY-BE
Overview
The destination of this one-day excursion is one of the pearls of the Nosy Be archipelago: Nosy Iranja. All you need is sun protection, a beach towel, and a lot of relaxation in a setting that will amaze you with its spectacular landscapes. A boat transfer of about an hour and a half covers the 45 km separating this earthly paradise from Nosy Be.
Located southeast of the main island, enjoy the boat ride to Ankazoberavino with a short stop to admire the Sugar Loaf from the sea. Upon arriving at Nosy Iranja, the first thing that will strike you is the extraordinary whiteness of its beach. The untouched nature, postcard-perfect landscapes, and turquoise sea make Nosy Iranja the ideal place to disconnect, escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, and enjoy a more relaxed pace.
Nosy Iranja is actually an atoll made up of two islands: one larger (Grande Nosy Iranja) and one smaller (Petite Nosy Iranja), separated by the sea but joined at low tide by a nearly two-kilometer-long strip of white sand. A stop at this idyllic place, with its tropical forests and coconut trees, allows you to spend time on the beach, savor a delicious lunch, and continue soaking up the sun.
The larger island is also home to a small fishing village. A short walk will take you to the lighthouse designed by Gustave Eiffel, perched at the top of the island and offering a panoramic view of the Radama archipelago. And when it’s time to take the boat back to Nosy Be, we are sure your first wish will be to return and rediscover this paradise as soon as possible.
